Texas Workforce Commission - Affinity Mapping
I find it extremely helpful to organize all the current architecture of the site by performing affinity mapping activities. First, it's always nice to see how the site is laid out and then to synthesize the data into more logical groups and segments if possible. The first image is how the site is currently mapped out.
The image below depicts the information architecture after the affinity mapping has been completed along with enhancements to the site. Some of the enhancements would be for social networking, more options for job searches, and better ways for users to log their pay. Today there are only two methods for a job seeker to be paid either hourly or salary, however, the tracking needs to be diverse as our workforce. One example the user gave me was she gets paid by appointment (she is a speech therapist) she can have 2 - 4 appointments in an hour she had trouble tracking her time before. There is also no method to track tips, bonuses, or freelance work.
